Ghettobots
Bio
Staking their humble creative beginnings on out-dated drum machines and two-second DJ samplers, the Ghettobots began drafting a blue-print to what would soon be their style. The name Ghettobots simply deriving from a mid 1980's cartoon, though public-housing also played a factor- not only in the name but also in their sound. The Ghettobots started out in 1995 in one of St. Louis, Missouri's most notorious housing projects -The Cochran Gardens. Consisting of two DJs from totally two different worlds, DJ Massive & Xeroe, met each other in unlikely situations. The Ghettobots are also by far their own best and worse critics, preluding to the fact that they have a keen since of what can be, "dope" or just, " cheese", in their music. They also try to drown all points of interpretation other than in what you hear, simple - to them. Both Massive and Xeroe have collectively built up names for themselves regionally, as producers: DJs and individually, also as Ghettobots performing live p.a. sets. With many local credits under there belts, both Shon and P.J. are now living in separate cities but still manage to create, via mail and email; constantly commuting from Austin, Texas to St. Louis and vice-versa without involving any creative difficulty. While striving to make better music and inevitably building their extensive fanbase, the Ghettobots are in the process of independently releasing their self-titled debut. Featuring a compilation of 18-20 of the songs they've done since their conception, mainly the songs that transcended the time they were conceived, as well as a few of their most recent projects. They are also prepared to release many more, hopefully through the applicable service(s) for themselves and others to enjoy.
